One of the Best Teachers in the World

This is a Prezi that I made over the weekend to show my teacher. I love him so much I wanted to make this for Mr. Moore, one of the best teachers in the world.

The Beauty of Plants

There are many wonders of a flowering plant, but let's just review the basics. Flowering plants reproduce seeds by carrying pollen from the stamen of one flower to the pistil of another flower. They also reproduce by pollination then fertilization. This is possible because of the bees. Bees carry the pollen to the different flowers by brushing against the anthers of one flower then flying to another flower so that the pistil can collect a pollen grain. Then the grain grows a thin tube that travels down the pistil until it meets an ovule where it forms a new seed.

Line Plots

Line plots are number lines that that show the frequency of each value in a set of data. Line plots help you record data in a very well organized way. The data is usually recorded with a "X."

For example, you are making a line plot of how many slides there are in parks. Let's say the data set is 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 11. The first step you would do would be putting your numbers in order from least to greatest. Second you will draw a line with a arrow on the ends. Third you will make a mark on the line for each number between 5 and 11. Remember you still need to put a mark on the line for 7, even though it's not one of the numbers we're dealing with, it's still between 5 and 11.  Next you will put an "X" above the line each time that number occurs in the data set. Then… poof! You have a line plot.

Diary Entry 4: The Haunting Hour

The journey was pretty easy, until it happened...

It was a hot day, and my crew was tired we had to work and work. Suddenly I heard Pedro muttering to Malachi. He was saying something about Lily getting for mutiny against me! I started getting ready but she just hurled at me, I started fighting her and in a moment she was on the deck with her hands up.

Finally our crew spotted a bird and a few sticks leaves and berries in the water! We knew there was land close so we never stopped looking around for land. Then a few days later Lily spotted land! She got 10,000 maravedis for spotting the land! Then the whole crew found land, and we headed towards the island. It felt so good to finally set my feet on dry land! We all stuck the flag for Spain.  Then we ate lots of fruit, and then I heard something in the trees. We pulled out our weapons and got ready. Then Natives came out one of them grabbed the blade of the sword and started bleeding. Then Pedro- our Interpreter- healed the native's wound and they gave him a necklace with a polished shark tooth on it! That's not fair!

Then on our way back I came down with very bad Typhus. I suffered and suffered until I couldn't go on any more. Then one day I didn't make it, I was in bed resting, and then...
I died. Everyone was sad to loose another crew mate, but they had to keep sailing.

Now I haunt the ship and my crew, actually there are two of us haunting the ship and our crew.

Sincerely,
Brooklyn-Ghost

Diary Entry 3: Ten Weeks Traveling

There were a lot of bad things happening in the last three weeks. One thing is that our mast broke from the storm that passed our way. We went off course, again, and we spent another week at sea. This made the Ship Surgeon's scurvy even worse and very sadly, he died. Rest in peace.

Also, our Interpreter had dysentery. Now he does not work very much. He is usually in the loo, or bedridden. With one crew member dead and another sick all the work was put on the two girls. Thankfully, our Navigator helped our Interpreter get better.

However, once the Interpreter was better, our Captain went crazy. We think spending too much time at sea was the cause. The Interpreter and I tried to convince the crew to keep sailing with the Captain for a few more weeks. It took many attempts but the crew agreed and we will keep sailing.

Sincerely,
Brooklyn--Boatswain
